JOB PURPOSE: | The Driver is a Direct Support Professional who is a frontline leader responsible for promoting those with intellectual/developmental disabilities to live their best lives by providing transportation for people to reach their day to day and long-term goals. |

Qualifications for Driver
- High school diploma, GED / HiSET
- Age 21 or older
- Valid Class E Driver’s License and Good Driving Record
- Successful Background Screen
- Eligibility to Work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/First Aid, etc.

Promote the PCBS Mission
- Embody the PCBS vision, mission, and values statements.
- Support a person-centered philosophy.
- Support persons served to lead a healthy, clean, and safe lifestyle
Is a Strong Advocate
- Advocates for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Ensure persons served know about their community and support them in making choices related to accessing the community.
Provide Excellent Direct Support Services
- Implement individualized person-centered plans which may include the following depending on the person(s) served:
- Provide protected oversight at levels noted in the plan.
- Administer medications according to policy and training
- Physically assist (support, lift, transfer, etc.) persons as needed.
- Provide transportation for persons served.
- Support persons served to be active members of the community.
- Provide personal hygiene support.
- Provide nonviolent crisis intervention as needed according to policy and training.
- Provide other supports for persons served, as needed.
- Document supports provided (as required), maintaining privacy and confidentiality of persons served following PCBS policy and procedures.
- Maintain current training in all required areas.

- Communicate both verbally (in both oral and written formats) and nonverbally in a clear, efficient, and respectful way.
- Complete tasks on time and to the expected standard.

Secondary Functions
- Report facility and maintenance/safety needs to supervisor.
- Perform general housecleaning chores as assigned.
- Attend all meetings and agency functions as required.
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Extended periods of standing and walking, with some sitting.
- Regular lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, or bending, as appropriate.
- Possible physical intervention, as trained in CPI, if confronted by a person displaying combative or potentially dangerous behavior.
- Periods of driving agency vehicles.
- Possible administration of chest compressions and rescue breaths as trained in CPR.
- Exposure to noise from persons served, office machines, appliances, and telephones.
- Substantial use of video display terminal.
- Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other communicable diseases.
Available Shifts
- Monday to Friday, 5:30am – 2pm.
