Funding Sources

 
Platte County Missouri
Residents of Platte County are assessed a mill levy based upon the valuation of their property. These funds are collected by the County Collector and paid to PCBS to provide services for its citizens with developmental disabilities. The current levy for PCBS is $.13 per hundred dollar valuation.

Missouri Department of Mental Health/Division of Developmental Disabilities partners with PCBS to provide residential and day habilitation services for Platte County residents who have a developmental disability. The services are funded through the Missouri Home and Community Based Waiver and the Shared Unit Agreement.

Missouri Department of Transportation has provided vehicles to PCBS through the 5310 Program and reimbursed some operational costs through the Missouri Elderly and Handicapped Transportation Assistance Program (MEHTAP).

The Arc of Clay and Platte Counties has provided grants to PCBS which have been used to provide vacation opportunities for people in the residential program, for activities related to Special Olympics, and special outings for the Day Habilitation Program.

Knights of Columbus, Pope Paul I Council has provided funds from their Tootsie Roll Drive each year. These funds have been used to assist people with developmental disabilities when they have expenses they are unable to pay, such as costs of moving and purchase or replacement of furnishings.
